An Own House Is a Blessing. Most people live in rented houses and must pay their monthly rent. Now, Maryum Nawaz Sharif, the CM of Punjab, has launched the Apni Zameen Apna Ghar Scheme for low income and deserving people. Under this house financing scheme, 1 lakh houses were delivered to the residents of Punjab.

What is the Apna Ghar Scheme?

The Apna Ghar Scheme is a housing finance scheme where the Punjab Government provides a loan for purchasing a plot and constructing a house on it. The loan will be interest-free. It is an extension of the three marla scheme.

Apna Ghar is the most impactful development program of 2025. The finance scheme will provide full support to the people. The first phase, AZAG, has commenced in 19 districts of Punjab, and the following phase (Phase II) is scheduled to begin soon. Congratulations to the winners of the Apna Ghar Program.

The scheme is divided into 3 phases. The plan is to provide 100,000 houses to low-income families in Punjab under the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHTPA). What are the Eligibility Criteria of the Apna Ghar Scheme?

The following are some of the requirements for success in the housing scheme:

  1. Residency – The candidate should be a permanent resident of Punjab.
  2. Valid CNIC – The applicant should have a valid CNIC. An expired or nearly expired date will not be acceptable.
  3. No Ownership – The applicant should not have any property, plot, land, or home.
  4. PMT Score – The PMT score should be low to be acceptable by the registration portal.
  5. No Defaulters – The candidate should not be a defaulter of any bank or other financing institutions.
  6. No Criminal Record – if you are not required in any of the criminal cases, you are the strongest candidate for AGC.
  7. One Member per Family – only one member of a family can apply for the house financing scheme. 

How to Apply for the Apni Chat Apna Ghar Scheme?

  1. Visit acag.punjab.gov.pk
  2. Create a login account through the citizen registration form.
  3. Select your gender.
  4. Add your correct details: name, father’s or husband’s name, ID card number, Mobile number, and email.
  5. Enter your address details and select your division, district, tehsil, and city. Please enter the correct address as listed on your ID card.
  6. Add references for verification.
  7. Please enter the password and confirm it via the email address associated with your account.
  8. Click on the registration button to submit your application.

How to Check Application Status of Apna Ghar Apni Chat Scheme?

An online portal is available to help you check the status of your application. Follow the steps and check the PMT score of your successful applications.

  1. Go to the official portal of azag.punjab.gov.pk
  2. Tap on “Check Application Status”
  3. Enter your login details, your CNIC, and Application ID.
  4. Tap on the search button.
  5. The new interface will show you the status of your application.
  6. It will display’approved’, ‘pending’, or ‘rejected’ options.

What are the Terms and Conditions of House Financing Scheme?

Under this scheme, 1,892 plots are being distributed free of cost in the 19 districts. You need to follow these terms after being a successful candidate.

  1. Start construction immediately, with no more than 6 months’ delay
  2. Complete the construction of the house within 2 years
  3. You have to reside in that house personally. You can’t sell, give, lease, or rent this.
  4. All these plots are only residential, not commercial.
