What is the Green Tractor Scheme?
The Green Tractor Scheme is a subsidised tractor scheme for farmers in Punjab. A subsidy of 10 lakh will be given to the prosperous farmers. The government has offered farmers 50-horsepower and 85-horsepower tractors. The Chief Minister has distributed 20,000 tractors under this scheme among the kisans of Punjab.
Millat, Ghazi, and New Holland Tractors are manufactured in Pakistan. All these locally manufactured tractors are powerful. Kisan can select any of these options during the online registration process and receive a 1 million subsidy.
Key Highlights of the Green Tractor Scheme, Punjab
The following are some of the key features of Tractor Scheme 2024-25;
- The total package for the farmers in this scheme is of PKR 30 billion.
- Under this tractor scheme, 20,000 tractors will be provided to farmers in Punjab, along with a subsidy of 100,000 PKR.
- Phase 2 of the scheme has commenced, providing 9,500 additional tractors to small farmers.
- A farmer with 1-50 acres of land can apply for the free tractor scheme.
- The applicant should be from the province of Punjab.
- The application date for the second phase of the Green Tractor Scheme is 10th October 2025.
- One thousand free tractors will be given to the farmers with the highest wheat production.
- Millat Tractors, Al-Ghazi Tractors, Buraq Tractors, and Messay Tractors are the approved brands of Local tractor manufacturers for the scheme.

What is the Green Tractor Scheme Phase 2?
Following the successful distribution of tractors under the Green Tractor Scheme Phase 1 in March 2025, the CM plans to launch Phase 2. In Phase 2 of the Green Tractor Scheme, 9,500 tractors will be given to the progressive farmers in Punjab.
The scheme has added more tractors to the approved list of tractors. These tractors are: Belarus, YTO, Zoomlion, and Lovol. All these are imported, with improved fuel efficiency and power. However, farmers prefer locally manufactured tractors as they are considered the most trusted.

What is the eligibility Criteria?
- An applicant must be from Punjab with a valid CNIC
- The candidate should be a farmer of 1-50 acres
- A farmer with a Kisan Card is also eligible to apply.
- The applicant should have a bank account with the Bank of Punjab (BoP).
- Valid Agricultural land ownership documents are necessary
- The applicant should not have any previous subsidy available.
- The deadline for application submission is 10 October 2025.
- Balloting will be on 1 November 2025.

Phase II has provided 9,500 new tractors to farmers. Farmers can apply for the scheme online from the portal.

- Application deadline is 10 October 2025
- A Balloting System will select eligible farmers from the applications for the provision of green tractors, Phase II.
What is a free tractor scheme?
CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz has launched a free tractor scheme to provide 1,000 tractors to farmers in Punjab. The scheme is an initiative for the farmers to support wheat growth. In balloting, a woman from Bahawalnagar, Kasur Parveen, won the tractor. The next winner was Muhammad Iqbal from Jhang.
The CM congratulated all the winners and hoped for improved wheat cultivation and a bumper crop. She assured that all the farmers will be provided with tractors within three months. This will help the farmers to grow crops on more acres.
