What is HImat Card?
A Himat card is an ATM card issued to individuals with disabilities. People with disabilities will receive ATM cards and be credited directly into their accounts. Currently, the government of Punjab has decided to distribute 65,000 Himat Cards to eligible individuals. The beneficiaries will get Rs. 10,5000 quarterly in a year.
What is a Himat Card Scheme?
The following are some of the highlights of the Himat ATM Card.
- Himat Card is an ATM card for disabled persons (PWDs)
- 65,000 cards will be distributed to the eligible persons from all over the Punjab
- There are two phases of this Scheme. In Phase 1, 40,000 cards will be issued, and in Phase 2, 25,000 cards will be issued.
- The beneficiaries will get 10,500 rupees quarterly.
- 30% quota has been reserved for women
- Payments will be issued in September and October.

How to get a Himat Card Online?
To get a hemat card, you need to follow the following steps;
- Go to the Social Welfare and Bait ul Maal Department Website – https://swd.punjab.gov.pk/himmatcard
- Tap on the “register” button
- Create your account by entering the correct details
- Get a confirmation code “OTP” on your mobile number
- Confirm that and get registered.
Eligibility Criteria for Himat Card Scheme
For the PWD card, the Applicant should successfully fulfil the following requirements.
- Register with the PWD from the Social Welfare Department of Punjab in your district. The PWD should mention that the Applicant is disabled and unfit for any physical work.
- The Applicant should not be an employee of any government or private firm.
- The Applicant should not have received any subsidies or grants from BISP or Baitul Maal.
- The Applicant should have a PMT score less than 45 for eligibility.
- The complete data of PWD should be updated on the DPMIS portal.
How to Apply for the Himat Card Scheme?
The application and confirmation process has seven steps. Follow these to include in the beneficiaries of the Himat ATM Card;
- Obtain a Disability Certificate – Obtain your disability certificate from the social welfare department or the labour department. The certificate will confirm that you are disabled and are not fit to work.
- Check PMT Score – The PMT score will confirm your income status. For people with low incomes, it should be less than 45. This score is vital for any financial scheme in Punjab
- Update DPMIS Status – The Disabled Persons Management Information System (DPMIS) keeps a record of all disabled persons. You need to update your current status on the online system.
- Confirm your Information from the local welfare office by visiting the workers’ welfare office in your city. Go to the help desk and check for your recorded Information. Please confirm your ID card number, Disability Certificate Number, Mobile Number, PMT score check, and all related Information.
- Wait for Field Verification – After your application is verified, a department representative will arrange a physical visit to your house. The team will confirm your status and verify the Information provided during registration for the Himat Card Program.
- Go for Bank Account – Once your online verification and field visit are successful, your status will be approved. You need to visit the Bank of Punjab and open an account. If there is no Bank of the Punjab in your city, you can see a campsite as well.
- Get an ATM Card – You will receive an ATM card in 2 weeks or 10 working days. This card will be valid and ensure that you receive your amount directly from an ATM. Please set up a PIN for the ATM card and keep it safe with you.
